FAST surfers village | Roots2Share (English subtitles)

In 2009 a group of young people created surfers’ village FAST on an undeveloped site at the end of Scheveningen boulevard in The Netherlands. Surfers, entrepreneurs, artists and the odd passer-by created the village out of a shared passion for the sea. FAST became a lively meeting place for young and old, locals and tourists. Recently, the municipal council of The Hague decided that by the end ...

He forgot to mention that Norway, Finland, and Russia are in different time zones so by walking around the border post you'd in a way be travelling back or forward in time: Norway 1pm, Finland 2pm, Russia 3pm for example.
I wonder why the flag on his shirt is backwards
Those Norwegian border guards look like they're from Michigan. I know Michigan has a lot of people from Scandinavian descent.
It's rather people from Michigan that looks like that guard, as many of them are of Scandinavian descent. 🙂

English is spoken as a second language in Scandinavian countries.

75 years ago it was only the Norwegian and Finnish border. Soviet occupied Finlands only gateway to the Artic sea after the peace treaty.
Finland will never forget Liinahamari!
Before that whole Finland was part of Russia that treated Finns with respect and dignity. Before that whole Finland was part of Sweden that treated them like inferior filthy rats. If Finns had given Soviets any guarantees that nazis wouldn't have joined forces and invade Russia through Finland (keep in mind Russian second biggest city is just next to Finnish boarder) then Korelia and things would have still belonged to Finns.
@@Danilla229 okey, we have a russian troll infiltred here also.
@@madsbuhris okay, an idiot detected whos calling history of Finland a fiction of russian trolling. what an idiot indeed lol
@@Danilla229 you are filling this dicussion with typical Kremls propaganda.
I have a question. Could I get there from the Finnish side? Because there is a fence along the Finnish-Norwegian and Finnish-Russian border (on the map, I don't know reality)...
I have the same question and did not find an answer yet. The problem is that Finland has a restricted border area with Russia. This border area is a few kilometers in front of the Russian border on the Finish side, and everyone who wants to pass this area requires a special permit. So you can't actually visit the Russian border from Finland. Norway does not have such a border area, and so it seems that visiting the tripoint might me possible from Norway only.
One can get there from the Finnish side too. There is a narrow corridor between the Finnish-Norwegian border and the Restricted border zone on the Finnish side of Finno-Russian border. If one walks along the path, there is no danger of entering the restricted border zone and getting in any trouble with Finnish authorities. The hiking distance from the closest Finnish road is significantly longer than on the Norwegian side. The high fence is for preventing reindeer from crossing from one country to another. Humans can use a gate.
@@MarkusDuesseldorf The border against Russia is closed, but Finland, Norway and Sweden is just a line on the map, walk freely ............
@@ralfhaggstrom9862 but not for Sweden for time beeing. Swedes are not welcome to its neighbours right now!
@@madsbuhris Yes, there are some restrictions, Corona Virus, but they are only for the time being. One reason might be that Sweden did Not do much at all to dampen the Virus-effects, and today they can`t deny it. A few days ago we got allowed to go to Estonia, it was also forbidden ...............
Which country or countries erected all of the warning signs? I also read that it is illegal to act in a provocative way - so if a person on the Norwegian side makes an obscene gesture towards Russia, will they be arrested by Norwegian border personnel or Russian border personnel?
Norwegian. Russian border personnel has no jurisdiction in Norway.
The signs seen on this video were in Finland's side, also Finnish was the first language on those signs. So, Finland is probably the answer for your first question.
@@6891x Depends on WHERE you are ! ..............
Finland, Finnish law actually prohibits one from being within 1 kilometer of the Russian border unless they are authorized or are going to legally cross the border at a crossing. So there’s a “border zone” and not just the border
@@eriknervik9003 Unless the border zone has been moved so that it is legal to go near the border. For example, you can walk to the eastern point of the EU and you can see the Russian border from there.
